Long time since I’ve writen a article on this blog, sorry for the long wait. I’ve been so busy with work that I haven’t had a lot of time for a new article.
Anyway let me start by telling you about the latest and greatest Ubuntu yet. Ubuntu 9.10 has some nice improvements which I think will convert some more people from other operating systems. Changes include faster startup times, cloud computing to name but a few features.
Things you’ll notice straight away is that you probably don’t need to setup any of your hardware. I found on my old laptop that had some issues with it’s wireless LAN was working right after it picked up the network security info was entered. The faster startup time was a pleasure and the software that’s included is enough to make a software junkie’s eyes water. You’ll have loads of fun with this distro, fun you previously had to know Linux very well to achieve. I also don’t have to tell anyone about the support that can be had with an active internet connection. You have access to a user community which is very helpfull, ranging from comprehensive online documents to live IRC chat for an instant answer.
I’d highly recommend that anyone thinking of trying something new to give Ubuntu 9.10 a try. You get it for you Netbook, Notebook and Server. You could even try it on an older computer because it’s not very hardware intensive.
So just go ahead and spoil yourself with a new operating system this Christmas and have some computing fun.
Anyway that’s it from me, have a very Merry Christmas and may 2010 be all that you’ve wished for.
