Long time since I’ve writen a article on this blog, sorry for the long wait. I’ve been so busy with work that I haven’t had a lot of time for a new article.
Anyway let me start by telling you about the latest and greatest Ubuntu yet. Ubuntu 9.10 has some nice improvements which I think will convert some more people from other operating systems. Changes include faster startup times, cloud computing to name but a few features.

I installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my laptop computer last week Friday. I had been running Win XP Pro SP2 and Ubuntu 7.04 in dual boot. The reason I had both Linux and Windows on this system is because I have clients that require online support via VNC (Virtual Network Connection). I thought I might as well start this new year with a new outlook on life and further improve my Linux skills, more to the point my Ubuntu skills. I thought the best way was to rid my laptop of Windows XP and run Ubuntu only. Don’t misunderstand me here, I do like Windows XP very much but, I feel it’s at that stage of it’s life where people need to start looking at alternative options.

I have been using Ubuntu 8.04 Beta and have to say, I am really starting to think that Microsoft is going to loose some clients that would rather not use Vista.
That’s only my opinion and I know there is lots of people that’s going to think I don’t know what I’m talking about. I honestly don’t care. I just think that paying so much for Windows Vista and then you still have to buy an office suite just to be able to be productive is a rip off.
Again I have to say, this is only my opinion, everyone has the right to their own opinion. Why pay for something if you can have it for free? I know some people are too scared to try something new, some don’t like to learn new stuff. For those of you willing to try new things, try Ubuntu, like it says on their products “ubuntu linux for human beings” and I have to agree.
Try Ubuntu and you’ll see what I mean. You don’t even have to install it, just boot up with the Ubuntu CD in your CD-Rom and there you have a working operating system working off the CD-Rom. Like it? Just double click on Install Ubuntu and you can keep on working or playing while the installation takes place. Even surf the net while the install takes place.
I am a huge fan…………..Thanks UBUNTU
